FILM | The Book Revue - A Single Man
Everyone knows it's pretty hard to adapt a novel to a film. A film adaptation will almost never satisfy a hardcore fan of a book, because it's almost impossible to keep everything in. One arguably great adaptation is Tom Ford's A Single Man, which gained an Academy Award nominations this year for Best Actor. The Revue Cinema is showing it as part of their monthly Book Revue series, where the movie is followed by a discussion about cinematic adaptation lead by Geoff Pevere. Even if you haven't read the book, you can still go - you just might find yourself buying a tacky version of it later at Chapters with the movie's poster as the cover of the book.
